Biking Olympic Discovery Trail &
hiking Dungeness Spit (4-3-2011).
(28 miles of biking and 11 miles of hiking)
After a long family driving trip in the weekend, I wanted some good workouts and get some sunshine. Jay Thompson and I decided to bike and hike: about 28-30 miles biking a portion of the Olympic Discovery Trails (ODT, Sequim Bay State Park to Dungeness Spit Trailhead) and hiking 11 miles of the Dungeness Spit (National Wildlife Refuge) in Sequim, WA. Intense exercise today would be good for us since we are planning to bike together the Klickitat trail (30 miles) next weekend. I have not biked for a while, so I needed to check out the bike and my physical condition. I ended up getting both (broken bike chain and heavy workout). My bike had a broken chain but it was readily repaired. The workout was more than I asked for.
In overall, it was not a sunny day but an excellent day for biking a bunch of miles and hiking some miles.
